Mozilla confirmed Java support in Firefox through to at least the 2nd quarter of 2018, and Nick has already confirmed the site will be moving to Webstart, so whats the source for this latest teenage fantasy?

And of course the Mozilla and Oracle websites, the latter being where the Java timetable has been posted since 2014, as mentioned many times on these forums so nothing has changed nor is anything a surprise.

The migration to webstart is just what Nick said a couple of months ago, presumeably in chat, ask admin, that's how I found out.

It's even more odd that you would post what you did if you haven't simply asked!

Insight as to the purpose.... much of hearsay, gossip, rumours etc. about the future (or not) of this site, so why do we not hear from Nick, he's the creator and knows exactly what's happening, above any beyond what Mozilla\Oracle may be saying. You haven't been around long enough to have seen, like long term members, that it seems like nick has dropped off a cliff compared to how active and informed he once kept us.

nick - don't you think it's about time you explained to us all the future for this site, you at least owe it to us to keep us informed, we are of course paying for a service, we are customers, you are running a business and taking our money.

I can't speak for Nick, but logically, at the moment there just isn't much to say. The site has been running smoothly for a long time now so no intervention is necessary.

We know things will be moved to Java Webstart in time, so when that time comes, I am sure he will be back on the forums
