as in all snooker games, wether on-line or playing for real at a club etc, after potting a red it is then customery to go for a colour, even though you don`t after nominate a colour it is sometimes gamesmanship to do so,my point being ,don`t you think it would make the game more interesting if you nominated a colour after potting a red, just a thought, tell me what you think

Interesting idea... iImplementatoin might be a problem though, especially in a 20s tournament game when you'd also need the time to nominate the colour. A lot of people though are gonna respond to your suggestion ith something like "Oh, this is funkysnooker, and that's the way it is". I like your idea though.....

Well if you hit a black and potted a pink, that's a foul anyway. So in a way you are picking a colour to go for.

why....beceause when people snooker themselves on all of the colours they just hit back up towards the yellow green and brown and even though half the time they dont have a clue what they are going for they end up hitting one of them

exactly benni, whats the point in just hitting the white in hope of hitting a colour, if you are doing this then you are hoping for luck. The only help you are doing is not giving the opponent points. Why not just play fairly and try and get out of the snooker fairly.

It's not unfair to hit and hope, how many people smash the white into the reds, and a red goes in. That's luck, but is it unfair to do it? No.

If you get out of a snooker by hitting it towards the colours, there is still a chance of missing.

What does the other person lose? Maybe once in a while a colour might go in, but it's part of the game, flukes can't be completely avoided.

what you on about u plank!!! the reds are all the same...the colours are different in case u hadnt noticed.

its not a case of flukes or not flukes. its a rule in snooker which is there for a reason.

But if it is a rule (I'm not sure on every rule in snooker), why's it there? To stop flukes. Which is what you're saying it's not for.

What Stevo15 said is a good point, it is the same principle as what you are saying. You can just as easily be snookered on a red, and hit towards the reds, hoping to hit one, as you can with the colours.

And if by your post benni_p, it's not to stop flukes, but it is there for a reason, what is the reason it's there for?

Someone agreed, thank goodness.

And well said toon, if it isn't to stop flukes, why have it?

If you want to nominate, just tell the person in the chat box...

Why not abide by the rules in place, fairly?

again its not about flukes it just makes the game far easier for people poor enough to snooker themselves regularly. why should they get this advantage because i have seen it countless times they hit for any one of the yellow green or brown not having a clue which, hit one of them and i end up snookered or with no shot when they should have to be more precise with the shot they are playing in the first place!

its a rule in snooker and it is there to make the game more skillful. Toon in answer to your point about snookering yourself on the reds.....the reds are all the same! all worth one point each the colours are all different worth different vaules hence a completely different situation.

so according to you should all the colours be worth 4 or something?????

No, I'm not saying they should all be worth the same, and I'm still trying to work it where in my post I even mentioned that!

And to be honest, there must be some skill involved for whoever is doing it to you, as to snooker you on almost every shot, it can't all be fluke. And I must say, it doesn't happen to me that regularly.

You are saying that this thread isn't about the flukes occuring, but you feel people should be using skill to get in those positions, and the way I see that, it is that you are complaining about flukes. Lack of skill to get something to your advantage is a fluke isn't it? And you're saying people should be using their skill to get it into a more precise shot, not just hitting and hoping for a fluke

So basically, this thread is about flukes, and something that isn't greatly needed in the game to stop them. How many games have you gone through without getting a lucky shot in your favour?

at the end of the day its called FUNKYsnooker for a reason!!!
and your idea would stop the flow of the game and make it less enjoyable for most!

and after you pot the red just about every shot you take is gunna be on the set colour you want so there is no real need to nominate! except from in snookers but nah poor idea!!!!

A parralel would be selecting the reds you wish to pot on the break, which is riduculous.

Luck is a factor in all games, real or online, and although it can be frustrating, i'm sure you take the odd fluked pot quite happily.
