Why doesnt this game let you have the facility to nominate a coloured ball.In particular if an opponent acidentaly snookers him/herself on a colour after potting a red and then just hits and hopes and doesnt hit the ball he was intentionally trying to hit.it annoys me when people get lucky like this as it is mandatory in snooker to nominate a coloured ball. How about if you are on a colour and you pass the cursor over that ball you automatically nominate that colour. And if you are snookered you do the same thing but click the mouse button to nominate that particular ball.

i like the idea, but to keep nominating the coloured ball would waste half of your shot timer, so maybe just have it for snooker's?, if its possible to code it i dont know how it all works, but im sure its possible.
i think it would be ok to impliment to have nominate as an 'option', i think that would be more suitable as i can understand your point dan, it takes the class of snooker away, its about skill so this would prove you know your angles, spin and the right use of power.

whenever i hit a colour i always lose 'points', but my opposition is allowed to hit his red balls. why is this? they often pot my colours directly after a red without giving away two shots. is this just a glitch?

original fella, i think your getting the game of snooker confused with pool, you HAVE to pot a red ball before even contemplating hitting a colour, unless you are down to the final 7 colours, this is why you lose (give away) points m8

hahaha that must be wrong forum lol. i think you should have a 5 second period when on a colour to nominate your ball before the shot timer starts running down. then you have time to think and really you should nominate colours.

But surely 5 seconds isn't long enough to choose a colour!!
If I wasn't on a colour to pot, I personally would like to spend 75% of the shot timer choosing which colour is the best to play safe on. You wouldn't spend 5 seconds deciding on which colour then another 20/30/40 on which shot is right!? By the time you've chosen the colour surely you've already picked your shot!!

i meant 5 seconds extra sorry didnt explain it well. so if u in 20 second game u get 25 seconds on colour to allow you the extra time to work out what colour you want and what shot you want to play. Not like 5 seconds then 20 seconds lol. Its just a little extra time to nominate and you can nominate with 3 seconds left if you wish. Just a thought....

yeah good idea, it does sound very complex from a game writting point of view though, knowing the difference between a snooker and not i mean. I don't know anything about that though! Might be dead simple!!

been mentioned loads a times. gd feature but will make it harder. I think the game is great as it is but would like to see an additional game in the near future

it may make the game harder, but then theres more skill and less flukiness about the shots.

What i think should happen is this. After potting a red and upon deciding what colour you want to pot or hit , just carry on playing your shot as you normally would (bearing in mind its not a snooker and you can play to directly hit the colour by placing the cursor on it as normal). This can be done by placing the cursor on where you want to hit that particular colour , but this is the clever bit. Maybe adding some coding into the game that when you place your cursor over that ball ,the game automatically assumes you have nominated that colour when playing your shot as normal. This would hopefully cut down the issues about the amount of time it takes to nominate a colour. But i hear you asking what if its a snooker and you are not able to directly hit that colour.Well, what about selecting the colour you want to hit by clicking on that colour and then playing your shot as normal. What does everyone think?

why waste time in choosing a colour in the open?, ok if the person was snookered on a colour i could understand but, surely your not going to hit a colour by a 'fluke', the majority of the time people who are snookered on a colour hit it by fluke, so i think it is fair tochoose a colour when only snookered, it wastes time by chooding a colour when they all in the open... unless it's a random shot your not going to hit a colour by fluke so wasting your time thinking about the colour!.
i think it would save a lot of time by just implent this on a snooker only, if that is possible to code because you need the system to know when the opponent is snookered on a colour ect. i have no idea how it all works!, but if this is possible in my opinion, its the best way to do it.
