dis is mi brothers idea but im nicking it...
have a world champion and evri so often (he or she) has to put the title on the line against some one (chosen by the mods) andthe winner claims the 'title'. how about that?

no, because of many reasons:

1. it would put alot of pressure on mods for choosing the right person
2. it would cause alot of arguements because the mods didnt pick him or didnt pic her ect.
3. i think everyone should be able to challenege for this 'title' so making it a proper world championship
4. i dont think it would be a world championship

heres my way of doing it:

we have a maximum of say 64 contenders, we have six rounds, each round up until the quarter finals are best of 5, the quarters will be a best of 7, semis 9 and the final could be a best of 15 to make it more intresting.

i think that it should be run by a moderator, like in the old days they used to make the tournaments when they wished, this would make it fair, it will pretty much guarentee that it runs correct and no slow downs, it could be a marathon tournament were it could last up to 6 days, do one round a day, or it could be done in just the one day depending on how long people have, if you have any

suggestions on my idea then let me know, i think this would be a good idea, we could do it for both orignal and arcade, do it once every 6 or 12 months?, i think it would be alot simpler that the way i have explained it, i just had to try get every detail across.

Day 1 - 64 players play first round (best of 5)

Day 2 - 32 players play second round (best of 5)

Day 3 - 16 players play third round (best of 7)

Day 4 - 8 players play Quarter final (best of 9)

Day 5 - 4 players play semi final (best of 9)

Day 6 - 2 players play final (best of 11)

This could be run on a quarterly style format?
