I think it would be a good idea if the mods could look back at the previous conversation for about 2 minutes worth then they can see if anyone has been F-bombing the chat room or insulting people and so on.

Yeah, would be good. Would definately help for if a moderator is online but not in the room and is then told about what has been said.

It could also work for individual games where someone has been mouthing off then gone quiet when we enter.

nice idea rekker, i think it would be very handy, or why not just have a chat log where we can see everything from when we logged in, or maybe before then if possible

There is a currently-running discussion in the moderator's community about how best to address this issue, which is a recognised problem. Certainly this is one idea which would help.

i sorta agree and dont, i think its a great idea but also could make it hard work looking for arguements 2 mins earlier when there could be havock at that time
