Not really sure Ben. Only thing i can think of is Java, maybe try updating it?

No... java is the launching and running of the game, if it was a java problem he would not even get to that stage, try to reboot... or you may have to try and login in a little while.

it could be your internet it happened with me a cuple of weeks ago try restarting ur modem/router
