Trying to find a game on original snooker can often be hard at the best of times because of the lack of numbers compared to arcade players. My suggestion is that when a new member signs up and enters the bar for the first time, the default table they see is the original table not the arcade table. Although after a while, the new user might afterall only play arcade and ditch original but at least they have a taste of original at the start. For example, I was speaking to a guest whilst playing arcade snooker and they didn't even know the original game existed.

I know it's simple enough after a while to just change the table when you get to grips with the tools but still having the original snooker table as a default table for new users might even the numbers up more.

There could be a choice like,

You have a choice in which table to start with.

Simple idea but i think it would definately get more members playing original.

Although i dont think it will even up the numbers as Arcade is the easiest to play and the original table doesnt always suit peoples size screen

Because people might watch other people play it and like it, so they register, but they want to go on arcade, and they don't know how to.

So you should get a choice in which table to start i think.

What about having 2 different links, each opening a different game?

I've always wondered why the "Open Game" links (see http://www.funkysnooker.com/viewHome.do ) both open arcade. As an user, if I click the "Open Game" link in the "Play Snooker" box, I expect that game to be opened.

Same could be done in the main menu (left part of the site) by duplicating the "Enter Game" link.

It used to open both orig and arcade if you clicked on each one in turn, but a while back when the site got a new look. It just went. So yeah i agree with martin in this respect.

Like sort of a split-screen with screenshots asking which game you would like to play,

well on the homepage (click on the logo in the top let hand side of the HTML page) it explains both game types. So does suggest two games.

Although it could be clearer on the server I guess, especially for newer players.

Good ideas, i didn't know that original existed when i joined until my m8 told me.. i kept on thinking how to get on to original since it was on the homepage.
