Don't know if its been mentioned before so here goes. Hows about a small button thats always visible that allows an extra 40 seconds onto the shot clock. An advantage of this is that it would aid people in getting out of tight snookers, however a disadvantage may be that time wasters would love it. Thats why I propose that it only be available to press once a frame.
During a tournament game, the 3 minute time warning would disable the button.
Thoughts on this?

Good idea that you have clearly thought out. I have seen this in televised pool tornaments and it does aid them, however in arcade snooke romse people may not really need this( i think its a gd i dea but im just adding depth lol)
In original snooker however i don't see a fault with this attal as it is meant to be a more realistic snooker game.
So yeah good idea

Ive mentioned this before (can't find thread) and quite a few were against it. I don't know why to be honest.

I agree with this point, 40 seconds would be enough for a extension.

Excellent point! This would make sure if people were trying to time waste, then they could only do it once per frame which i think wouldn't really time waste anyway.

Same, good idea, they do this in the snooker remier league, they are allowed up to either 2 or 3 (not sure which) 30 second shot extensions per frame.

Gd idea but 40 secs maybe excessive.

It would also help for simple tasks like answering the door and phone(lost loads of games doing that)

Maybe we could choose how long our shot extension could be example i want 10 secs out of 40 secs, but I couldn't choose 50 secs because its over the limate

I would love that feature! I personally need to think very long about some shots quite often.

However your last idea could be a bit too complex the_boss. A single button would be the best, because if the player starts to think about how many seconds he wants to use, then enter it into some field, then validate, he would end in losing more time than the extend.

Well, im quite strongly against this tbh, the game room you enter has a set time if you don't think you can escape any type of tricky snooker within that limit, make your own room with a time limit you think you can cope with simple.

Whilst not strongly against it (and tbh would probably use it ), I agree that you join or make a room with the appropriate time limit. If the phone goes etc., its unfortunate but happens and all part of the game.

Who hasn't experienced this yet?:

*Starts a funkysnookergame*

*misses an easy ball*

*checks out his mail*

*gets the FS-window back*

*notices the clock running 9,8,7,6,..*

*notices his nickname beside the clock*

*pumps adrenaline into his body*

*misses the ball*

*loses the match*.

*threws his monitor out of the window*

*takes a rope*

*... {confused smiley}*

So yeah, good idea mate!

The thing is, i make them 30 seconds long, but i always get a shot where it could take me 40-50 seconds to see a route.

I really don't see the point that people disagree. 1 extension per frame will not do any harm. It's like sitting out 1 extra shot. No big deal
