Following a few messages and PM's about the O2 ads causing problems, i've thrown this quick guide to disabling flash together to save repeating it over and over again!

Remember if you want to view flash content on any other sites, you will need to follow the same steps and enable flash again.

Note that this does not stop the ads from being displayed, it only stops the animations, so does not break the sites Terms of Service.

This is based on IE7, but other browsers follow similar systems.

Go to manage add-ons :

And select "Shockwave Flash Object", then the "Disable" button, before clicking OK :

Following this change, whenever an adver tries run a flash animation you will get this warning bar :

You can just close it and carry on playing lag free

Yet another awfully badly understandable message. I wonder why IE is mixing ActiveX and Flash...

Anyway thanks a lot Spinner, I'm sure this will be useful for many people (and possibly myself if I get back to Windows).

Anyone know how to do it for Maxthon? The banners are really starting to wind me up now. To be honest, I don't know why you have to use flash banners anyway... surely you can just use a gif file and you'd still get your advertising?

The adverts are provided by an outside server, so the site has limited control over them.

However, due to the problems the O2 one was causing, it has been disabled for the weekend until it is replaced on monday

Spinner, what about the advert on the game window?

I'm having lag issues these days and I noticed that when the advert was gone and the top 10 rankings was displayed instead, I didn't have lags anymore.
