When playing in tournies couldnt the players get a set amount of points for progressing thru each round? It would reward everyone who plays in them and it could be just like the ranking system i guess so that the higher your ranking the less u got!

Yeah, not a bad idea. but only for selected tournaments just in case people don't want to risk losing rank.

Or you could win rank points if you win a tournament, like say....20 points or something.

yeah, maybe 20 for winning, 10 for being in final and 5 for semis. that way nobody wins too much or loses anything.

Well i like this idea, but i dont really think it is fair on the people who cannot play the tournaments. I usually have work to do in the evenings and can only play in the occasional tournament.

For example, i could play every tournament for the next month, and if spursjay didnt play any for a month i could easily get a higher rank then he. Doesnt mean I am better than him.

So people who are worse players than me, have the opportunity to get more points than me. Even if they arent better. It doesnt give a fair reflection on a players skill. It is a good idea, and would be rewarding, but i just dont think it would work.

then how about just using normal ranking system! If you progress it just means you win more points as if playin normal ranking games.

i like the idea of points for winning the tornie but only for the 2 finalists 10 points winner 5 points second maybe encorage more people to play in tornie . . . . . . make it happen nick

You can't just put a certain amount of points on, it has to be a proportion of the points they have already accumulated!!! Or else the 1000 barrier would be smashed!!!!!! So how about the winner recieves the equivalent points as to the of beating a person with a ranking of 990?? And the 2nd person a ranking of 900??
