ok ive come up with an idea for a sort of new tornament schedule with the help of toontomh so...
The Format
Ok the idea is that admin come up with 4 tornament names for arguement sake World Championships, UK open, Torney c, Torney d. Each of these will be played aleternately and monthly so they will each be played 3 times in the year if you follow me, When each tornament is won i suggest there is a page under the carom stats that looks roughly like this:

world champion - 9_darter (hehe)

etc through the torneys.

Profile Updates

I also think it would be good to have on each profile to have how many times each person has won what torney and also say if they are currunt holder of the torney.

Advantages

I think this would be good to give people something to rival and chanllenge for and generaly bring some good banter to the site.

Disadvantages

I think this could be played on only arcade to limit size of profile. Thanks

Ooh this sounds like an ace idea.
Should be better than the usual tournaments if it happens, seeing as there would be one of these, 'uber tournaments' if you will, each month; offering more brownie points if you win and hence more people will join them?

how about this 1..tournament of champions,call it a toc for short.lol..every player who wins a tourny in a month, ie say september.would get an invite to the toc at the end of the month.winner of that would hold the title till the next toc,,(only peeps who win a tourny get to participate)

I prefer the idea liam suggested personally.

some kind of official tournaments/leagues has got to be the next step for the site. I know you have the standard tournaments already and in recent months killer, speed tournys etc have been added as well as the new layout and cloths etc.

People like entering normal tournys, but they like entering torunaments with a different twist as well as proved by unofficial leagues and cups.

I think we should have one of these monthly tournaments, it's a great idea.

But i think there should be some sort of better reward for winning it. Developing on that idea of holding the 'title' until the next tournament, maybe the winner could gain an award icon on their profile like a medal or something displaying the title they have won or possibly a link to the profile via the homepage (basically displaying the achievement so that it stands out and is easier for others to find).

Another suggestion would be a prize in which the winner of the particular tournament can hold an award that can increase the % of rank gained in any other ranked game outside the torn. The % can depend on how many entered the torn at the time and it doesn't have to be a significant amount. Then the award can be 'passed down' to the next winner in the next tournament.

Something along those lines anyway
