I was in a tourney game today vs ******, and i was clearing up when he left in the middle, but then in the middle of my shot (as in white was moving) game suddenly changed to Practice Mode and it said TOURNAMENT: Non Attendance Punishment - ****** disqualified

I was on an easy half (thanksfully not a cent!), and slightly annoyed this has happened, and was just wondering if anyone else had this problem recently

I also Prt Scrd the chat as this is how it went

You join ****** v xello as a player
GAME: ******(Adept) v xello (virtuoso)
GAME: Games will start automatically in this match
xello: hi gl
******: u2
****** leaves room
GAME: ****** has left the game
GAME: xello can play on until the finish of break, at that point a default win is awarded
TOURNAMENT: Non Attendance Punishment - ****** disqualified

Been mentioned not that long ago, this is done to stop you getting DQ'ed from the tourny.

sorry damee but not quite with you, but surely if he leaves in middle of break i get to finish it? thats how it was for me until just now anyways =/

how would someone leaving in the middle of my break get me DQ'ed?

Because what if your carrying on your break and the time limit just ends? You get DQ'ed. Its to stop that from happening

hmm i see your point but this has never happened before when an opponent left in a tourney match

and this game was not even 2 mins into it so was miles off the time limit

so is this normal then?
like an update i missed?

thanks

Said time after time, you shouldn't get that message unless time is running out on the time limit for that round.

Otherwise what danger are you in from getting DQ'd??

People always seem to forget that tourney rounds rarely last until the time limit runs out, thats not the issue..

that kinda makes the notion of the game finishing early so that you don't get DQ'd useless though, yes?

If your carrying on your break surely it would just be one more game to finish still ?

i think funky snooker should get rid of this feature,

simply because i have never heard of someone gets DQ because time runs out after his opponent left the match.

This same problem has occured to me on serveral occasions.

But unfortunately thier isn't anything we can do about it.

But on other circumstances this could be taken into account as a bug, and therefore Nick will look into it.

But till that matter is sorted out we will just have to live with it.

Oh and if nothing is done about it to stop this happening, surely there could be a way to make it a bit more hassle to just up sticks and leave during tournaments, in the way it was before you could carry on your break when an opponent left. When you clicked to exit it came up with a message which went a bit like "you may not leave on your opponents turn"

Not hard to do surely??
