couldnt there be a way that you get extra points for high breaks.i believe this would encourage people to play exciting and the better players would benefit more?

Sorry, misunderstood your post the first time. Isn't getting a high rank without high breaks enough incentive to want to improve? Obviously, you're going to have to play more games that way. But that just shows that you're consistent and you don't need cents every other game to win.

I've always thought losing 14 points (like me in some occasions) when your opponent hits a max from the break off is a bit harsh personally. But then again, there is no real way around it, you just curse your luck and move on.
