Well for one thing, he wasn't red carded for a professional foul, he was red carded for serious foul play.

Next point is that I watch alot of rugby, and what JT did was pretty much a rugby tackle. Having said that, if that was a game of rugby, and JT did that tackle, it would not ae sent Joe to the floor. The fact of the matter is that Joe took a dive, the tackle was not serious foul play at all.

However, i think that only united and chelsea and maybe liverpool and arsenal at a big push, would get the card recinded, for example, last season boro had aliadiere sent off and appealed and ended up getting an even bigger ban for having the cheek to appeal.

edit: mark Halsey has always been a poor ref, hes very overweight for a prem official, so he shouldn't be a prem ref anyway
