the only way i could see someone breakin 999 would be if ste reset and won 100 games straight

Reaching a ranking of 1000 is made impossible by the edge modification. 1000 is a supremum that does not belong to the set of possible rankings.

Wouldn't make any difference, as the guests rank is not affected by the newbie modification. Only the opponent they are playing.

no-one would get there anyway from 995 you would have to beat 900s for about 60 games straight

Whilst it is true that it is impossible to reach a rank of 1000, the rank that is displayed on the profile is (I believe) the actual ranking rounded to one decimal place. Thus an actual rank of 999.95 (or higher) would be displayed as 1000.0
