I think that its just good sportmanship to not abandon a game, there are some times when you can't help it if your computer crashes, but if your just abandoning them because your going to loose is that not cheating? I feel that it is, does anyone else agree?

no it is not cheating because the other player gets the win anyway.
Back in the day this was considered cheating because the rule whereby you can carry on your break wasn't here however since this rule abandoned games have no real negative on the other player apart from a bit of bitterness left :P

Ok then well fair enough then, i wasnt sure if it was something to do with how the rating system works like if you abandon you get less points taken off or something :) But if thats not the case then i guess your not really gaining an advantage by abandoning the game
