I think that swerve should be introduced to the game. I know most players get put into snookers that you could easily swerve out of but instead you have to go of 1 or more cushions and theres a risk of giving away points.
Anyway just a suggestion

Not possible to do with the current game engine. For that to be implemented, a 3D game engine would need to be introduced, completely ruining the "funky" feel of it. Also making the game alot harder for everybody concerned.
Having played other games with this 3D feature, I can safely say that implementing it is a step back for funkysnooker.

other than the 3d thingy, I think the main problem is that swerving would be too easy to do, swerving in the real game is really hard to do.
This is the same as jumping over the ball in pool (it's a foul to jump over the ball in snooker).
If this was introduced, the art of safety would well and truly be gone from the game, whichh might please a few but certainly not me.

I don't believe it would be hard to implemented because if you can put screw and side on the white ball why not put a swerve on it!
I like this Idea alot!

Putting swerve on means raising the cue to get the correct angle. You can't do that with a 2D engine.
And I'm with Mike - swerve would most likely be easy. I'd hate to see the safety aspect go.

It's also worth remembering that along with the need for a 3D engine and control system, the game would also need to take the nap of the cloth into account, and how each shot played during the game affects it.
Does each game start with a brand new brushed cloth? or each frame?
I've yet to see a convincing swerve shot in an ongoing game. A few have it, but it tends to be either too random, or each shot is exactly the same. None of which either reflect reality or are particularly useful.
