Surely players should get a number of lives for this per frame, i.e. they should not be able to do it more than 3 times a frame. It can lead to joint disqualification in a tournament, and is very annoying!

They don't choose to do it they can't control the connection.

It would be annoying if it were the other way around too.

What? I can't believe this has gone down badly, yes its no-ones fault, but that doesnt mean people should be DQ'd from tournaments, and have to sit down for 45 mins while their opponent stops and starts responding every 25 secs for the whole frame

I think you lot have seen this thread as if he is complaining about people not responding. I'm with mike. The three lives thing is what his thread was about. I think its a good idea.

It can be very annoying at times (mike ) but it isn't their fault if the connection is bad. However, if this were to be introduced, then I think it should be tournaments only, as it would be unfair if people lost rank due to it.

Are there any mods going to add to the consensus here? I have to say earlier today i was on the other side of the argument and it still didn't change my opinion, it was unfair on my opponent as he sat there twiddling his thumbs while my internet messed around through a break

I wouldn't agree with it personally... the time it takes for you to get logged out was shortend not long ago, to 90 seconds I believe.

People's connections can be uncontrolable, and it is not only frustrating for the opponent, but for the player not responding also.

The way I see it.... It's 'just one of those things'.

Exactly as josh said, i dont see how it could be controlled either? I mean if your connection go's at the end of the day its gone. Nothing you could do about it really.

I think it's a good idea, but:
- only in tournaments
- we shouldn't count the number of times a player isn't responding, but the total amount of time (like, 3 minutes in total)... it surely won't harm if a player isn't responding 10 times 3 seconds!

I just disagree, I think everybody understands what the point of the thread was, but the fact that it is nobodies fault means that nobody should be punished.

I can see the threads now:

"I have just lost a game when I didn't actually lose, all that happened was my connection went and I was suddenly DQ'd, how is that fair"

or words to that effect.
