Hi all, could we not have a
Handicapped snooker league
like golf

Where the higher ranked people would have to give a 7 - 14 or even a 21 points start
to a less ranked player and adjusted accordingly to there rankings what do you think?

It would give the newbies a bit more encouragement to play pros
and a bit more of a challenge for the pros to having to give a start according to there rankings

And it would be a new game to add as well

Regards COOPS 1

Stop repeating your posts, you made your point the first time so don't do it again.

The problem is people could never played ranked matches, be only 700 and be really good players so it would be easier for them.

Well... Most pros would beat lower ranked players by more than 21 anyway i guess.

There is already a 'handicap' of sorts in place. When a higher ranked player plays a lower ranked player they get very few points onto the ranking, isn't that enough of a handicap instead of giving them a head start as well?

Anyway what's the point in giving head starts? The higher ranked players have got there from starting all their games 0-0, so why shouldn't the lower ranked players have to do that as well?

Yes I see what you are saying mate
but most times when a pro plays a newby or a not a very high ranked player
then it is not a very interesting game is it
but this way it makes it a bit more interesting
and a bit more of a challenge
if you can understand me mate?

and another game to add to!

this game is all about sportsmanship not about gaining an advantage because your not as high ranked... wouldn't it feel alot better by winning from 0 - 0 start, plus i dont think they would have anything like this in real snooker games.

i dont necessarily agree with coops, but there are handicapped matches in snooker for where friends play one another and want to make the game more interesting. I dont see any harm in adding a "handicap" feature pre determined by the players beforehand, to friendly games, but it may be a lot of hassle and i cant really see many players using it
