I was just thinking to myself i see far too many people complaining about time wasters, people running down the clock etc, and i thought it would be good to introduce a Sin Bin or a Points Penalty.

If you have been unfairly treated in a game, by a player running down the clock with only the black left or something you should be able to report them for unsportsmanlike conduct. The admin will look into it & if he finds good reason to punish the player one of the following should occur.

1. Sin Bin - The player is banned from playing matches for 2 days (or whatever the admins see fit)

or

2. Points Penalty - Ranking points deducted (Amount depends on how bad admin finds the offense)

I want to see something along these lines as there are far too many unhappy players, who keep being screwed over by unsporting players. It is unsportsmanlike conduct, so it should be punished in some way. Tell me if i sound stupid but i think its necessary.

I like the way you put your idea across but just dont feel the need for it. If players want to do this just let them be unsportsman like. If a random shot was to happen on snooker, it is likely that you will get a foul (4points +). I often do alot of random shots as im chatting away on msn!

I really like the idea mate, i think it would be fantastic if the admins make this happen. The sin bin idea i like alot because then the players would find that worst punishment. Lets hope that nick thinks its a great idea too, but most good ideas put on the forums the admins just make up excuses not to have them so your idea probley wont happen but oh well.

riseagainst, I think your idea is brilliant!! Like many other 'funky-snookerians'... I have been a victim of the time wasting low-life!!! Again though.... I'd have to agree with funkyshot this forum is usually much ado about nothing.... but hey it's still alot of fun!!!

Its a shame that nothing gets done in here anymore, as there are so many people who are willing to give advice and help to Nick and co.

I was reading the very first few pages of the forum earlier, there is posts like "why dont we have tournaments" and "i'd like to see a concede button in the game"...seems things used to get done on request back then. But unfortunately you're right, not much gets done these days.

I post ideas in the hope that Nick or someone of importance will see it, I dont want credit or anything like that, just want a better game for its loyal users. And if Nick thinks its good, and then implements it... happy days!

i agree with riseagainst u have to stop the scum whom consist on wrecking the game i've been a victium several times to this craze of time wasting sort it out nick plz...

this thread is similar to things talked about before. if your opponent is 3 or 4 snookers behind we should be able to rime limit the game. it is unfair for someone to be 40 points ahead with the pink and black remaining and get kicked out of a tournie coz his opponent is time wasting!!!

To be honest, if you dont like the time limit then create your game and set the time limit to something more your style. I usually prefer 15-20 seconds.

Who said i dont like the time limit? I dont like people touching up to the black when they are 30 points behind with 2 minutes left in the tournament. But this is just generally a plea to get these people temporarily punished, in the hope they will no longer do it.
