Is it possible to mute the people watching tourney matches? I had a couple of guys efffectivley putting me off throughout one of my matches. I'm pretty sure that there aren't any controls on the people watching matches (bar the filter).
(Sorry if this is already a thread by the way)

If you click on their username to open the pm chat window, you can select 'ignore user' - you will then not see anything that they type in your chat window.

This has been mentioned a few times in associated topics, and I think its a good idea.
Just a selection box to "mute chat during games" would do the trick, with opponents and friends as exceptions.

Yeah that's what I was often thinking, I've seen many stand alone chat features with a mute room button on it when often as I do watching games online so it wouldn't be too hard to implement surely? Or would it?

What is the point in it? If someone is putting you off do as Dave suggested. If I clicked to mute the chat room, I wouldn't know half the users I do now. Seems a bit pointless to me.

The problem is that some people are put off by others chatting regardless of whether its deliberate or not.
In some cases, like late tourney games etc, there can be 10-20 or maybe more in the room. Ignoring each one individually would take ages.
Also, you may only want to ignore chat during that one game, not ignore particular users on a permanent basis.
In the rare cases where people do deliberately put others off, especially if there are more than one, surely its most appropriate to have a simple one-click fix for the innocent user.

Suppose, but then on that basis, why would friend and opponents be immune? They can accidentally (or some times purposely) put somebody off just the same as the rest of the people.

Then maybe a button which mutes all the people for one person, so they cant hear anyone at all?
With the option to turn chat back on again so as they can be polite at the end (gg, wp, ul, ty, gl etc)
