new to fs and still learning about how it works
do breaks over 50 during a match increase your ranking by more points than if you won a scrappy match with no high breaks????

Don't think it does as I would go with the view that it takes just as much tactical skill to win a tactical game then break building skill to win a game in one visit if you can understand that.

Breaks don't count towards ranking. The only thing that counts towards your ranking is the result and the two players' ranks.

I think that the score is factored into how it works, so technically big breaks help increase ranking quicker.

Nothing there about breaks. It is simply the rankings of the two players involved and the reulst (Not the score) that determines the ranking change.

Yup rank is the only factor (both yours and your opponents) taken into account. Otherwise, to balance it out, if you lost by a big margain, you would lose more points.
The higher ranked opponent, the more rank you win, and the less rank you lose, it's just you've got to beat them
