right... I think the Regular & Original should have more power, because when you hit the white up & down the cushion it barely reaches 3 times (Reg), whereas on a real table you can do it for about 5
Not only that, on some key shots where you need full power with backspin, it's impossible to do so, i've noticed EVERY time i try, i get 3/4 of the power, has anyone else noticed this? because i can get full power without backspin... very odd. this has hindered me on a laptop & a desktop so I know its no fluke.
Thoughts?

The reason for full power without backspin and 3/4 power with backspin is because your hitting the cue ball at a lower angle than normal, causing a increase in the chance of mis-cueing.
Take it in real snooker for instance, if you put loads of backspin on and hit it as hard as you could, 9 out of 10 times you are going to miss-cue is. So this is just like bringing real life snooker into Orig/Reg.

look at mark selby and stephen lee, they can do this no problem, so i dont agree with you there as they can spin back the length of the table

It doesnt matter how hard you hit it at the bottom. It matters.
If you have the right cue action you can spin the ball back for miles. But if you hit it hard you usually have a real bad kick.
So you dont have to hit it hard to get back spin. Have the right cue power and the right cue action and its ok.
Thus what is happening here.

yes but this is funky snooker, not at the crucible, and so i think that the ball should have more power, thus making the ball spin back further.
you get kicks all the time in real snooker no matter what the power is, but there's none on here whatsoeva, so why should a bit more power matter?

I think this is just common physics. As a player, your arm has a maximal power. If with that power you hit the cue ball with some spin, a part of your power goes into the spin, so the ball will move slower than if you had hit it with the same power without spin.
The bar on the right side doesn't actually show your cueing power, but the cue ball's speed.

Well, it is too do with cue action. But power also plays a part because when i'm playing and i'm cueing bad I can still screw the ball back quite far.

I was only answering the 2nd part of the original post, i.e. the fact that the power bar is only 3/4 filled when using spin.
The problem with globally increasing the possible power is that it would change the gameplay a lot when breaking off, because it would become much easier to spread the reds a lot and eventually pot one.
