Is it just me who finds this incredibly annoying? There is no skill involved whatsoever and it is even more annoying when your opponent goes on to make a decent break.
Maybe putting on a limit on power for the break to stop this or something similar?

on arcade snooker u have to do a blast break really, because its almost impossible to get the white safe doing a normal break. therefore i prefer to be attacking and positive to give a nice open frame rather than just rolling into them like some cowards do which is really negative and achieves nothing because you are going to have to open them up at some point.

I agree. In arcade snooker you need to be positive and try to sink one ball from the break as there is no chance in getting it safe. Normal snooker however is different, and you will rarely see somebody smash the balls from the break.
My advice is if you find blasting from the break too annoying, try your luck at normal snooker.

I hardly think it's 'cowardly' playing a normal break, it's more skilful and you aren't relying on luck, which is all the blast is.

Lolz. I guess you're one of those that rolls up to the reds, lets your opponent tap the reds, then blast them yourself?
Is that classed as skillfull?
Neither of the breaks are skill full. Acheiving high breaks or a good run of wins, getting a high rank. Thats skillfull.
Pointless thread.

surely if u can pot 8/9-10 with the blast then it is skillful.
Its also nice to clear up off break

I think it's a valid point.
Arcade snooker should still approximate real snooker, if the tactics on break change so much that the percentages are better to smash then play safe it is unrealistic. The maximum shot power could be reduced.

the name should give it away really "arcade snooker" it's not gonna be played the same as the real version if you dont want ppl blasting from the breaks play snooker, i have found that most of my wins come from blasting the reds wide open then hopfully making a break

What the?! How on earth would reducing the power on a break make the game better? If we really want to make the game improve we need to stay away from changing things that work and change things that need changing and people are frequently asking for.
Nick i recall you quoting on game announcements page when referring to arcade snooker: "Now there is a game that caters for users who have smaller monitors, or those who just a quick fun game."
A quick fun game...Why should we then tap up to the balls? It is surely up to us how we play, there shouldnt be restrictions on the way we play. Smashing the balls is a matter of our own technique, players choose whether to or not.
I hope i've made my point clear.

riseagainst exactly what i was trying to say, i feel that would be forcing people to play a certain way and if we all play exactly the same how boring will that be
