many people i have spoke to agree, on the break in 3 balls connect with a rail you lose a life, can this be removed as it just takes the mick in mu opinion thanks

Maybe as long as you pot a ball on the break, it doesn't penalise you ??

You have the option to not play the break that usually pots a ball in the bottom right pocket, as it seems to be risky because of this 3 balls rule.

I personally use a break where the cue ball hits the red on the right, hits the top cushion and hits the pack again. With that break I'm sure at least 3 balls hit the cushion. I usually don't pot off break though, but that's why we have 2 shots to pot!

its not hard to get 3 reds to hit the cushions, just smash it, you get another go if you miss, and it opens the game up and makes it interesting, the altrernative is a tap break, then people will want the 3 cushion rule back.

You can't tap the break without losing a life anyway, even if you have a spare shot in hand.

So whether you have this rule or not, it won't make a difference to the lives lost.


Oh, and three rails is much easier than potting from the break.
