hello, tonight i was in a tournament and going for a 107 i was on 65 with black as my next shot then 35 was easy on which i know i would of got, and on that 65 my opponent left the game. i think like in a normal game when a player leave's a break continues, so why cant it continue during a break in a tournament!!! so please agree that if a player leaves your break should continue

This has been brought up many times before.
A quick browse of the forums would have been suffice.
And for the 1000th time. You cannot continue a break in a tournament game because if you carry on with your break and the next round begins. You will be disqualified!
And the reason it is like this is... if you where on a break and the 3rd round had just started (for example) the server would class you as not available for the tournament game. And so, become disqualified.
I've said this alot before aswell. If you want to get big breaks, dont join a tournament. Play someone that you know is sporting, and it will come.

yes but mate a game is a game and a high break during a tournament should still be aloud no matter what, so your saying a tournament is for a mess around with no breaks ????? and also your telling me if you had a easy chance at a 107 you wouldnt go for it?????

No, a tournament is not a guarantee that you will get a high break.
Also, the players that enter the tournament know that if they leave they will corrupt your break.
You know this aswell as i do. Like i said, instead of joining a tournament, and seeing your opponent has'nt potted off the break. You see a 107 dont you? But in my mind, i see an opponent leaving half way through... you see where im coming from?
Dont expect anything major from tournament games... because that's the way the tournament's have been set out im afraid.

since when does a high break stop the next round going on? haha
it dont..cos the opponent has left..meaning your through to the next round?..does it not?
so, it wouldnt matter if you got a 107 or 57 break and go through
breaks a break, and you go through

No. It classes both of you as DQ because you are still involved in the frame!
So you both get DQ.

i think the decision should still be left up to the person who is on the break. there is a warning at 5 mins 3 mins and 1 minute before the end of the game. surely if they choose to ignore that its there own fault for being disqualified. and futhermore, if they are still trying to finish a break when time runs out they lose their break anyway because you cant continue in a tourny room once time runs out.
so knowing this with one minute to go that they will be DQ and lose the chance to get a max they will miss a shot end the game and continue to the next round.

yes i have said that in the other thread, it does get frustrating as it has happened to me on more than 1 occasion but until it gets changed you have to live with it.

It has also a lot to do with the attitude of people. I never leave a frame anyway before the end. Especially when somebody is on a good break its in my opinion normal to let him finish.....

totally agree with you up_north. only reason i would do it is if the person is abusive earlier in the game just as a little spot of revenge

can i just say youngjeezy you have this wrong because if i player leaves game and break continues , you have a time limit "warning" and if it was on 1minute you would end the break yourself correct.... so mate you have that wrong every game is a chance to get a high break i totally agree with up_north and i_am_deco!!!
