No way was it Clarke, Clarke scored his runs in the second innings of matches when the game was either beyond Australia or already won.

Strauss got more runs, plus scored in the first innings - when it matters, to set the game up. He also was the winning captain and made some brave calls.

Strauss more runs, more important runs at that! plus captained the side to an Ashes victory.

Strauss was voted player of the series btw, plus not sure if this needs new thread.
