Basically i was thinking it would be good if we could set up an away from desk message.

sometimes i am away from the computer and i return to see ive had pm messages off people however since they have signed out,

i dont want to come across as if im ignoring whoever has messaged me and i thought it could be good if you could set up an automatic message that says , away from desk, something like that so the other person knows you wont of seen there message.

does this make sense.

signing out would solve this issue but if your in a tournament or waiting for one to start then that would be a problem.

any one else have an opinion regarding this idea.

If you're away from the computer you're not gonna see the invite anyway lol. You could always just create a private room called "away from keyboard". Or something along those lines

Personally, I don't see it as a bad idea, but its one thats not really needed.

thats why tournaments and invites have sound alerts tho isnt it, so people dont have to sit fixed at the screen.

the pm alert is quieter i think

was thinking bout what you said about making a game room, like that idea but to be fair but ya wouldnt really need to tell everybody, was only if someone happens to pm you.

Why don't you implent commands into the game such as:

/afk

Then it will say

I'm Sorry this user is currently away from the keyboard.

All you really have to do it that, no need for this in my opinion

Or do what I do and have no friends that way no-one will pm you

if someone pm you and your sat in a private room they wont know anything different, so it dosnt solve the problem im referring too.

I tend to agree with Lee on this one.

I don't like to miss PM's, I also don't want people to think that I am ignoring them.

You can get a message saying

"<Player's name> does not accept PM's whilst competing"

So it can't be hard to implement. I believe it would be a nice addition and after all you wouldn't have to use it if you don't want.

Yes, quite easily I guess,(as it happens at the moment it takes me more than 5 mins to log in)

But if it's not hard to implement what would be the problem with having it ?

maybe on the right of the pm message box - ther could be something that sayas "away"

then, when u press the button it puts out a message in a diff. colour sayin " <players name> is not at the computer at the moment, please wait "

then when u could press the same button and it puts a message out " <players name> has returned "

logging off is not an option if your waiting for a tournament etc, otherwise id agree and log off.

was just thinkin tho..... ther may be no need to do this.....just say " brb " then when u return say " im back "

How simple can you get? It tells them you're away. Need no more!!
