do you find that putting side on the cue-ball helps you to win a game in funky snooker or do you just hit and hope to land on a ball to pop. How do people judge the amount of side to put on

i judge from practise and from watching other players in the way they use spin of all kind

spin is perfection of a shot.

sometimes you dont need spin to move the cueball in different ways, its learning how power will react with your shots aswell as just thinking about spin.

pace of your shots is prob more important to be honest, in my opinion.

just play as much as possible learn from others and pot some balls. It gets easier as your knowledge of different shots will be greater, making you approach every shot confident that it will be potted.

i find that pace is defo more important, as the minor changes in pace can determine the next shot, spin is easier to like pick as it is just clicking on a white ball, so pace is obviously harder.

i suck at pace :P

Have you ever noticed if you put the spin to the right, as far as it will go, how the cue will strike the cue ball? Imagine if you took the shot like that in real life, I'm sure it wouldn't have the same outcome...

Mike...i beg to differ!

I've played in top pool leagues around the country and i can manage more spin than funky...

And some of the people i've played against do shots that i think are impossible for example...

Black over middle pocket white jawwed in a pocket the same side....then reds lined on the line of the D...leaving just enough room to play a double with full side HOWEVER....You also place a red ball on the top of the cushion so the shot isnt possible...

Yet they swerve the shot with a huge amount of backspin to go passed the lined reds...stop before the red on the cushion...swing round with full backspin to bring the white all the way back down to pot the black.

I hope that makes sense...Maybe i'll draw a picture and show you..

I dont think any spin is impossible in billiards

Unless of course stupidity shots
