too many characters?

yes i have the same problem when i type anywhere or anything with less than 800 characters left. the bar at the side jumps up everytime i click a key so i cant see what im typing but the typing still occurs

its very irritating for when you are editing "about me" or quoting a long post when you try to type and it keeps jumping halfway up the post

The fix I meant was the problem mentioned by budweiser and sacred_heart - with the input area jumping around in Internet Explorer.

Your problem seems to be you were including tab characters into the area - which the filter didn't allow. If you remove them you should be able to post. I will change the filter to allow tab characters when the next patch goes online.

mine and budweisers problem is now gone. however, a funny new thing happened now. when i was creating a post, i was after quoting a long post and had approximately 200 characters left, i highlighted a word to put bold on it and when i clicked the B the text box scrolled up to the top. this happened every time i hit bold or underline.

few other related queries:
1) nice job allowing smileys to be entered wherever the cursor is, instead of them being added at the end. But why does the cursor jump to the end when its added?

2) previously you could highlight a word or phrase and click any of the editing options in sequence(B, U, I, SPOILER etc) and the word would stay highlighted, now you have to re-highlight each time. why?
