Ranking positions were created each time anyone looked at each player page causing a lot of system load. This has been changed to be updated for all players at the same time as rankings ie ever 5 minutes. This means the value on your page is not "live" but instead it will be consistent with your position on the rankings page.

The position currently incorrectly includes deactivated and banned players but I'll address that in the next patch.

Anyway, I'm optimistic that this change will have a noticeable improvement of server speeds during times of peak usage (when we have 700 on combined pool and snooker).

Dame, the limit for funkysnooker was reached quite a few times (390-400 simultaneous online). I've upped that to 415 with last night's build - I'm keeping an eye on the performance as the limit is upped.

nice change, while im here do you plan on boosting friends list up a bit, or keeping it at 50?
