Please don't take this as a criticism or to belittle your achievements, because it is no way meant to be - more a general topic for debate. Do you think that it is easier to achieve Virtuoso from scratch (given that you have obviously gained the skill to be at virt level) than it is to maintain Virtuoso for a sustained period of time? I suspect the former but would be interested to see what others think.

i would say given the ranked tournaments its easier to get there from scratch than maintain it, as one loss to a 750 would give you like -500 points or something stupid, and gaining the points through the 700s is easier.

when fuzzy first did it i would say getting there was harder.

I dont reset so as to go back to virtuoso.
I deactivate because i need some privacy, too often.
I can maintain virtuoso, hard, but i can do it. I just dont have the pateince required with people, and so, i play the hide & seek game from time to time

Quite true adam, thats only if u lay tourns tho, i dont anymore.
By not playing, carom virtuoso is now harder than before.

But i really dont care about rankings anymore.

But, back to buddy's point ... i think its harder to achieve virtuoso than to maintain it.

To achieve it, you need to be top class, and lose only 10% of games (playing against 800+ players too, orelse its impossible to go virtuoso anyway)

So, if u achieve it, i think it shows you re good enough to actually maintain it - very hard task - but its doable.
