Hi,

I just recently participated in a Arcade Speed Tournament and reached the semi final, the opponent i was playing needed snookers once we reached the colours, so obviously made it very difficult for me to pot, taking up time, and eventually the time ran out.
As he believed he could win, he did not forfeit so we played until the game ended, i didnt have a problem with this as i expected that the player with the highest points (especially as my opponent required snookers) would advance to the next round.
As you can probably guess this was not the case and we were both booted. The tournament was unfinished and the winner of the second semi final was announced the tournament winner.

I've just questioned Budweiser on it but "rules are rules"........ surely someone can see some common sense in this?
I was fairly beating him and the fact the he required snookers surely meant i had a commanding lead.
Budweiser said i needed a 12 point "snooker cushion" so to speak, but i do not understand why so many are needed, if any at all.

A 12 point cushion is the equivilent to three 4 point snookers or two 6 point snookers. Which I feel is the right limit.

The reason the player with the most points cant go through is for the pure and simple fact that it could be abused.

You could continuiously roll the ball up, making the pot as difficult as possible for the opponent ensuring you win whilst being ahead!

You only need 1 tip....and that is dont tap break!

Then there will be plenty of time spare.

sabracadabra - whilst this may indeed seem unfair, as you were in a winning position, there has to be a time limit set on all tournament games. If there wasn't, some (especially the marathon ones) could go on for hours.

The rules and time limits for each round / event are clearly posted at the start of every tournament.

I'm sure that lots of us have been "victims" of this at one point or another - I even lost a final, through being timed out, but that's the way it goes.

This has been brought up many times, if you check through the forum, you may find some threads to do with this particular subject :)
