This happens all the time to me and i was wondering was it a glitch or the actual rule.

sometimes the white ball covers the blue spot a small bit, but still leaves the spot visible, yet the blue is placed closer to the pink spot instead of on the spot, is that a rule or have i been cheated

no, because it has to fit completely on the spot as it usually would. instead, if no other spot is free, what echo said happens.

In the rules though, it says that if no other spot is free, it goes as close as possible to its own spot..

in a direct line, but as far as i'm aware it goes towards the black side of the table. Thats why sometimes pink gets re-spoted at the back of the reds.

in your case nicko, the blue should have been respotted directly to the left of the white in line with pink and black
