hi, i was having a quick look at the rankings, and realised you got a lot more higher ranked players in regular and original compared to arcade

is there any reason why players a higher ranked there, or not ??

because of the ranking scale

arcade: you can lose up to 8-10 (about 5-6 for same rank)
Reg: about 12 (about 7-8 for same rank)
Orig: 12-13 (about 7-8 for same rank)

longer game type takes more rank you win/lose.

Arcade is easier, so the gulf between players is smaller. A lot of people can get a 50-60 break in arc which is enough to win. It's much tougher to get that break in reg or orig and even if you get it, it's not enough to win.
Top players lose more frames in arc.

oh right, because i see that whocares8x8 and brentologist are both 965 and 960 in orig

rare to see a 960 rank in arcade
