That would be an in-game feature.

I've never experimented with screen recording before. It's definitely possible and I think it would be an awesome feature. Thanks for the suggestion.

best one i tried was camtasia after changing settings so it doesnt lag/hardly lags of course
only bad thing it takes 5 seconds to start recording.

I also use Camtasia. It's easily the most HQ screen recorder I've ever used, and I wouldn't be able to match it, but I'd be able to create a basic screen recorder.
And by the way I think you can remove the countdown for recording.
Most people use Fraps for recording games, just in case you wanna check that out.

The countdown shouldn't appear in the final video?
Have you got the latest version of Camtasia?

Just go into your recording options, there's an option to disable countdown.

any lag or anything and when you upload to youtube?
12:56 Sun 8 May 11 (BST) [Link]
You shouldn't lag with Fraps. But I'd only really use it for recording game play.

nps its all i use to record for anyway, ill keep camtasia just in case.
anything i can use to edit it afterwards, windows movie maker is ok and so is camtasia but i would like a spinning zooming camera action with more features.
if i still have to use camtasias then fair enough.

Depends whether you have a PC or a Mac.
The best video editing software from my personal experience is Final Cut Pro, but you'd need a Mac to use that. For the PC, I'd say the best is probably Sony Vegas.
