Popup dialogs replaced with internal dialogs, and play friend function

As reported on here before, the popup dialogs were very flakey - they failed on some machines and browsers (especially Chrome), possibly showing behind the game window and being impossible to touch.
Therefore all dialog windows have been removed and instead are shown as part of the game window.
Once any initial bugs are resolved this way should prove more optimal. It will work consistently, opening within a window has less overhead, and it will always be possible to quickly close the game with a single click.
Any problems please let me know.
In addition there is now a simpler way to setup and play a friend. Click play on a private message window, change game options to suit, click OK and you create a new game room and the system also invites your friend.

Seem good to me haven't tried the "play" feature yet but I certainly like the idea.

i like the update only thing i don't like is when you click on find player and table is blocked out by gray (screenshot on pool) and preferred it when you could see the table.

The game rooms, options and find player used to open in a new different window. This was a bit messy and didn't work 100%.
Now these replace the table area of the game while being used.

from what i saw on pool when creating a game keep allow guests unticked.

It should have always been there? For friendly games you can choose whether guests are allowed or not.

It was just for friendlies before, it gives you the option on ranked games as well now.

It doesn't make a difference i have just made a game with the tick on "allow guests" a guest joins and when you take of the tick a guest still joins?

Nice updates Nick, as always.
One small thing though: when you open the list of rooms, and click on one (one click to highlight it, without entering the room), the room name is barely visible.
Any chance of changing the brightness perhaps?

I think its a great update. The only thing is the actual screen when you open it up has alot of wasted space and could be visually improved. There is a lot of empty space on the right and the writing is quite small. Maybe even centring the tabs would make a difference?

Agreed, as much as it is brilliant now that it's not a pop-up, it does look stretched across the screen IMO, lots of empty space..
How about...
You have
-Game Rooms on the right
-Selected Game Details on the left
To use the excess space, on the far right it could have a factfile of the owner of the game, showing the owner's stats of the game type?

Yes, it looks that way to me too on a 1920*1200 monitor. It could (and probably should be) limited in size and centered for those with big monitor resolutions.
It's a good idea, but I'm against adding something that is dependent on a certain resolution to fit, as it only benefits some and creates 2 different styles to work on, maintain and test.

a suggestion, you have allow guests, some people dont like playing newbies so maybe have a allow newbies option also.
