i woulda thought that as you cant reactivate after a week then, wouldnt it save web space to remove deactivateds 2 weeks after they deactivate ?

The data is probably deleted to save space after the deactivation period to save space (which is why it is irreversible) but the username remains for 12 months so that it is not immediately re-used by another user which could lead to some confusion.

what about accounts that are still active and not been played on, do they get removed?

From what I remember from pool you get a warning they will get removed after 12 months inactivity by email ... in that email it gives you the option to get a reminder of your password. Of course if you have changed your email you won't get this and so the only option available to you in that case would be to use the Contact link.

Ahh I get you, don't think you need to worry about that (as long as it isn't used) and it will eventually just disappear into the mists of time and be deleted due to inactivity.

Why if you deactivate is it 13 month should be 12th month just be easier.
Also why don't banned users from 5-6 year ago get deleted? i understand having them from the last 2 year or something.

banned users never get deleted.

and yeah 13 months but doms account sup_foo never got deleted after 13 months so sam had to reactivate it for him.

and one of my mates previous account should be deleted today but its not.

I bet it be deleted tomorrow.
And after all the talk saying that they do not reactivate people accounts after 7 days and all the capped threads on this, they still react the odd members account.

just if it doesn't deleted after 13 months.
