i know it might be complicated for the game but i reckon it could happen and if nick could make it work what do you think?

talked about before, need a 3d engine but nick wants to keep it 2d

You need a 3D engine for it to be realistic, but it is possible to imitate a swerve shot in 2D.
Although I can imagine that it would be very difficult.

You also need someone to work out the mechanics for it...
When you consider that the amount of swerve is dependent on the elevation of the cue, the power, the position of impact on the ball, the speed of the cloth and the weight of the ball it gets rather complicated. Then add in the fact that the possible striking area of the cue ball changes as the butt is raised which would mean changes to the impact location thing (spin ball whatever you call it). It would also require a "raise/lower cue" feature to be added which is more work.
It would also require changes to the way balls bounce of cushions as currently they aren't realistic, and the path of the cue ball on powerful shots would need to be changed after it strikes the object ball as this is currently not realistic either.
All in all it would be a monumental amount of work for Nick and someone with a degree in physics for something that wouldnt really change the game a lot. Just learn to play off cushions first (ie learn to play carom, it helps a lot) .
In an ideal world it would be an awesome addition to have though, i'm not knocking the idea!

to add to that, wouldn't swerving take the fun out of snookers?
as you could play a snooker and what could be a 3 cushion escape and possibly difficult could be made easy with swerving.

you cant snooker on a table without pockets though

no but if you played a shot with spins and the ball started swerving round the table it would be like proper carom!

Yeah, but fuzzy's head would explode with happiness, and we can't have that...

i think there already is, coz if you hit too hard then sometimes the cue goes over the ball

next it will be invisible cue followed by touch screen funky... it will never end tbh
