enjoyed 5 second original over past 2 days and i remember pool trialing a 5 second super speed tournament so wondered if we could have 5 second tournaments too.

what is possible is you could change the orig friendly to orig micro and 5 seconds, change reg friendly/micro to 5 seconds, change add an arcade super speed tournament etc.

would bring some fun back into tournaments i think.

so 1 5 second tournament a day for each type could work.

Bring on 5 second carom! Haha. Interesting idea, panders a bit to the hit and hopers who don't plan out shots though. Seb-bot excluded as his processor can work shots out in milliseconds. I would like to see this included if a longer one was too at say 60s.

yeah time limit could be 5 minutes a round plus 1 minute invite period so would be over in less than 20 minutes, ideal for orig/carom micro i would say

I can think of one Greek who wouldn't like 5s carom tournaments lol.

Sounds like another way of winning a cheap tournament in my opinion.
Why can't there be just 7 tournaments in a week? One a day at 8pm british time, On monday its arcade, t=reg,w=orig,ths=power,friday=carom, etc, which anyone can enter, newbie or non newbie. Just will give it a bit of pride, rather than winning a 3 man orig tourny at 3am or something.

One day at a set time is not a good idea, because people in other countries would probably not be able to play tourneys then.
Our fellow Australian members would have to play at 8 in the morning, American users between 11am - 3pm, depending on which part they live in.

Multiple tournaments give everyone a chance to participate.

and some americans play in early hours, i know 2 people who play in early hours from pool, alxima and gentle_giant who had a -5 GMT and like +11 or 12 GMT and need like a rotating schedule.

like for example can have set times like 2 am, 10 am, 3 pm, 8 pm so it accommodates all time zones:

2 am -

mon - arc
tue - reg
wed - orig
thu - carom
fri - arc
sat - reg
sun - orig

and if its micro you wont get credited a tournament win, you only win rank and tournapoints.

This is a good idea, however it does have its flaws.

The time overall, maybe you could replce some micro tournaments with speed tournaments, and like you said once a day, but then theres time wasters and the amount of time you have to finish again, so 1 a day would be pretty pointless for such a fast tournament.

Maybe you could have a few more, as in 3 a day, morning, afternoon, and evening, each tournament random to the disciplines?

Gonna be tough to waste time with 5 seconds per shot.

I like the idea of speed tourneys replacing some of the micros.

agree with micros or even change friendly as you dont get a win credited anyway.

Seb you often get people who just touch up behind colours if they dont get a decent one after the red, thus wasting time, if its going to be 5 seconds per shot, make it something like 5 minutes per game, then it gives people time to clear as i suspect there are going to be quiet a few random shots/retake of shots.
