You should go to the Safari Zone - Fish for a Dratini - Put him in DayCare, get him to level 20 - Use 10 rare Candys on him - And level him up to Dragonaire and Dragonite.

Also get a magikarp and do the same until its a Gyarados.

Also get a Gastly, and produce a Gengar, but you can only get him by trading (which is harsh as I have no real freidns).

Seriously the best way to "cheat" was with a vs seeker and exp share on fire red and leaf green on the islands.

I always used to do rock tunnel in the dark as i could never remember where the Flash HM was lol. The most frustrating part of those games was victory road. Always got stuck there for ages trying to move those boulders down the right traps.
