willl somebody please explain the ranking system to me please?
Here is the formula used to calculate the points (dif = winner's ranking - loser's ranking)
If winner's ranking is the same or better than loser's ranking
1 / 2(dif / 100)
If winner's ranking is less than loser's ranking
(2 - 2(-100 / 100))
if i am correct, then this would mean that if the winner is 50 points above the loser, then he would win half as much as if he was 100 points above the winner because the difference is more??? also for the part where it says the formula for if the loser is higher ranked than the winner, what does it mean by 2-2 (diff / 100)????
edit - got the second part of my question now, but the first formulae never works out to be correct...........

if winner is 100 points above loser, then (not including multipliers)
winner: +0.5
loser: -0.5
if winner is 100 points below loser, then
winner: +1.5
loser: -1.5
So the higher player should win 75% of the frames. (this is the example on the help page)
if the winner is 50 points above the loser:
winner: +0.7 (rounded to 1dp)
loser: -0.7
if the winner is 50 points below the loser:
winner: +1.3
loser: -1.3
Then the higher player should win 65% of the frames.
So no, they wouldnt be expected to win half as many, they should win 10% less.
And 2-2^(-diff/100) means divide the difference by 100 and multiply by -1, then raise to that power and then subtract from 2. Or just do the calculation for the winner and subtract that answer from 2 as:
1/2^(diff/100) = 2^(-diff/100)
Who knows why the same calculation is written differently in the 2 things .
winner: +0.5
loser: -0.5

The fact that I can't write proper maths on a forum makes it tricky to explain simply!
