I've already posted something like this before on a deleted forum.

slatty made the very correct remark that it isn't much of a democracy at all here. You can get banned for swearing, naming and shaming, nothing and a lot more. However, you can't get banned for what is in my opinion the worst of all, lying.

Most people can't imagine a full ignore list, but I know there are quite a lot of people on here with 80 on ignore.

I would like to see the friends and especially ignore list limit go up to something like 200 (it's 80 now). That way you can make your own decision about who you want on ignore and who not and you have enough space for it. It's a bit fairer for people who swear too, as I have never seen a site before with moderators on it who ban you when you swear. We wouldn't need the mods and admin that much anymore too.

I don't want to insult mods/admin and I certainly think they should stay on the game but obviously there aren't enough on this game, especially since Ian left. Furthermore mods and admin can only ban 'cheats' when there is proof. So when someone really says something terrible I still think they should be banned, but for naming and shaming there should be the ignore button.

So in short: extended friends/ignore list, no more banning and bootings for small offenses, fairer. Please post your thoughts.

You don't get banned for small offences unless they are repeated. Only severe offences eg racism, serious offensive language and things that put other people or their property at risk get a straight ban.

It was raised once before but instead of a boot for a small period of time for swearing, naming and shaming etc, I personally think a muting punishment would be better. Putting people on ignore doesn't help those who don't have offenders on their ignore list. Getting muted for a week would be a much better deterrent.

I cant find the thread . Wherever it is, I'm sure either Sam or spinner posted and didn't like the idea! It's a shame as it works well on other games.

Are you joking? If anything there are too many mods/admins. The problem is a lot of the mods aren't active at all, and pretty much all of the admins don't care enough about the site to administrate.

By the way, to you trouble makers out there constantly getting booted/banned, if you actually have a read through of the rules, you'll see there are plenty of loop holes that allow you to be a complete nuisance and a pain to everyone without ever breaking a rule.

I like the idea of mute Adam.... I also think that when you enter a game, if the person you play is on your ignore list, it should remind you.... saves typing Oh, Ste, thanks for the comments... more than happy to consider a return if asked

most of the online gaming sites got a mute option which works from 1 hour up to forever but... it works cuz people get a 2 warning if they swear or being offensive towards the others and once they get muted once in most of the cases they don't intend to do it again hehe I have played on several snooker sites and most of the have it so I think it would be a great idea to bring it on here as well as it happened on the other sites.

Which is strange because actually it's one of the best ideas that's ever been suggested on here. And all those who were against it actually had no logically reasoning for not implementing it. It's like they just didn't like it and couldn't be bothered to explain why.

You look at any major gaming site... There's always some sort of organisation/structure in their banning system.. It's never just "give a few verbal warnings and then boot them". And actually from my experience, members usually only actually get 1 warning before being booted.

For spamming/swearing etc... First give a warning, then mute them for 10 minutes, and then boot them for however long the moderator feels is necessary.
For anything more serious, such as cheating/hacking, then follow stricter guidelines with a straight up ban..

Creating a banning system isn't rocket science it's just common sense. The one that's in place at the minute is laughable and doesn't deter people at all. They think "wow a ban who cares, I'll just make another account"...
