Carom Call Cushion

me and apple (mich) sort of invented a new game for you to play, makes you think harder on your shots, we tried it and amount of calls i got wrong was unreal lol.

i came up with numbers.

Rules:

+2 for correct cushion hits (must score a point for this to count) (+2 doesn't count if 2 cushions is called in a single shot in which case look to +1)

+ 1 if you call 2 or more cushions say 3/4 (/ = or)
-5 for incorrect cushion hits (again must score)
If you don't call a cushion its same as an incorrect answer.
If you don't score a point it doesn't count to your total.

so even though etarvt may have had a 20 run how many of them were planned? well now you can find out by playing this game

lets see scores people can get after 50 (or even 100) shots, the main intention is to be over 0.

im confused

basically before each shot you plan it in your head and work out how many cushions you need to score the point then you say that number (in notepad or something if you don't want chat room to hear). for example lets say you think 6 cushions.

If you don't score total is unmoved
If you score but the number of cushions is incorrect (e.g. score in 5 cushions) then total is -5
If you score and call cushion correctly (e.g. you call 3 cushions and score in 3) then total is +2
If you score and call multiple cushions successfully (e.g. 3 or 4) then total is +1
If you take shot and not call a number, If you score total is -5, if not it is just 0

so even though you may get a 10 run if you don't call any successfully then your score would be -50 but if you called every cushion successfully then score would be +20 (or 20). Objective is to score in the + not the -

to explain further i did a screenshot for lethal_lure few days ago (i have carom table as a PNG so i can try and show you any shot).



thats a shot i learned from destiny, for that shot i would call 5 cushions, if i scored and got it in exactly 5 cushions i would get 2 points, if i scores and got it in anything other than 5 then i would lose 5 points, if i didn't score then i would lose nothing.

okay.. i think!!! do we test it out on the practice table 100 shots or against players?! :S

any preferably practice, i normally go into a room on my own so people don't think i am crazy

cool, would be weird if i saw a recorded version, ill try this tomorrow i think my best is +5 but not too certain.

not sure if i got it right but:

66 successful shots from 100
58 of the successful shots were with correct cushions
so 58 * 2 - 8 * 5 = 76

116 for correct, 40 for incorrect so yeah leaves 76, good score mate well done
