Xbox 1 is selling for $499.99(£321.70)
Ps4 is selling at $399.99(£257.36)
They are conversion rates as of the other day on XE, i don't know if that is the correct rate tho
PS4 makes Xbox look like a piece of (insert swear word).
What I don't get is why both consoles cost stupidly more money in the UK than anywhere else in the world... Makes absolutely no sense. If the PS4 is $400, then we should get it for £250, or whatever the conversion is.

The firms - going head-to-head in the £50billion-a-year computer games industry - blame higher taxes in Europe, as well as transport and other costs.

Another thought...
So with the American price point being lower in Pounds, this has been calculated using the current exchange rates. If you've ever been to America, the price you see on the product isn't the price you pay at the till as tax needs to be added on. Where as the UK price point has tax added on already i.e. The price you see is the price you pay.
Although even after looking at this is still appears that we are being overcharged

The Prices are:
£429 for the Xbox one
£349 for the PS4

Seems reasonable to me, I have a friend who is a Manager at Game so I'll be trading in my ps3 plus his discount so probably won't need much else to put to it!

Exclusive to the console (i.e. games), are the only thing that would rescue the xbox one in my eyes

its all about preference, i could say Playstation people are idiots but i don't.
while i wouldn't mind a PS4, all our friends play on Xbox so eventually might get an Xbox One but ill wait until its cheaper.
my brother also plays Forza which is exclusive to Xbox but tbh each game should be available for all platforms as i miss out on Final Fantasy as well since thats PS4 exclusive.
my dad was thinking of moving but since we had the xbox, i haven't heard of microsoft being hacked where Playstation was hacked at least twice.
i do like the free live on Playstation though
while i wouldn't mind a PS4, all our friends play on Xbox so eventually might get an Xbox One but ill wait until its cheaper.

All of my friends play on Xbox too, but the only benefit for me personally with the Xbox would be getting CoD DLC 1 month earlier. The pros and cons for the PS4 out weigh the Xbox 1 in my opinion. In fact I don't think the Xbox 1 even comes close.
The whole hacking conversation is pretty irrelevant also. Microsoft could be hacked just as easily as Sony were. And also I believe you'll have to pay to play online on the PS4 just as you do on the Xbox.
