Does anyone else think there's been too many gameplay updates? For me this games just not what it used to be, but that would also be down to alot of people not playing anymore and losing interest.

the updates are bad because of the lag, but not much has really changed in the reaction of cueball control, so i dont see the problem really, besides the annoying flickering FPS.

Then get a decent connection so you don't lag, nothing to do with the actual game...

eh'em..... maybe we could get an offical answer from Nick regarding lag.... is it due to game updates, maybe the service provider he hosts he site on etc.... as to be honest lag is becoming a common question on here and people, such as myself have made sufficient efforts to demonstrate it's not always the laptop where the game is running from. Maybe Nick can perform some server log checks, to see if at any specific times of day, cpu% on the providers server is peaking and having a knock-on affect to those accessing it.

Agreed with the first part, but most updates are not what the people on the forum asked for. The possibility to accept your tournament invite in the chat box for example. It's a handy little improvement but i don't believe anybody asked for it. I'm not going to make a list here but if you have a look trough the game queries forum you will see that Nick has not implemented or even openly responded to the absolute majority of the people's suggestions. As far as I know the only thing he has done that members have asked for is implement the option of moving the cueball in the D.

As much as I don't want to.... I agree with stephenh2014, as many an idea was recently put forward via a forum as to what we, the paying member would like to see happen to the site, to improve things. Would be nice to actually see some of that happen..... as for updates being bad.... what a load of crap (ooh blimey Ian, calm down ), any update Nick decides to make, realy does improve this site and everyone should be thankful for the time and effort put into this.

OK, I'll do this by timing 60 seconds and see what ideas have come from members suggestions on the forum off the top of my head:
snooker! came from a suggestion on the pool site, and then arcade followed, and carom.. How about offline messaging, PM's not popping up in front of the game, tournaments, ranked tournaments, play on after your opponent leaves, premium, fancy cues, auto start of games, removal of 3 ball rule, alternate cursors, cloth color choices,
Ach, thats time up, but those are just a few of the many ideas that came from the forums that I personally recall, and that doesnt count alll the little tweaks and bug fixes along the way.
So, to say nothing happens is just plain silly

Let me rephrase that, As far as I know the only thing he has done that members have recently asked for is implement the option of moving the cueball in the D.
Sorry but I was not talking about the middle ages. I thought this entire thread was about the recent updates.

Er, some of those I mentioned are recent, or so I thought, it just depends what you define as recent I guess. You can't expect changes to happen in only a few months!

How long have you been on this game mate?
I agree all credit to nick for taking the time to make this site as good as he can, but with all the updates the game has changed too much from (my opinion) its best. The tournapoints and the tournament points system was probably the biggest change. Stopped many people just playing friendly tournaments and getting rank by just playing, nowadays its not really worth your time playing individual games if you want you build rank. If im right alot of the angles on the table were changed a while ago also? This stopped alot of people playing too and for me theres just been to much tried on this game, something along the lines of too many cooks.. Too many updates spoiled the game.

Well, that depends. I would say approx 2.5 years.... my wife would say 2.5 years of lost love for my children
Everyone to their own opinion on this, I don't really remember too much of the game prior to the Tournapoints introduction, but for me, I've found the majority of upgrades an improvement

Thats what im saying, people that were playing alot before the tournapoints alot of them have left because they dont enjoy the game anymore, its not the same as it used to be, i was on around the start of 2009 and thats when the game was at its best IMO, but i see how people who started around the same time as the tournapoints would like that more. Its really just down to what were used to playing the game like i suppose

I noticed this too, why would they change the angles?
