today i got into the original marathon final....for every game i won upto the final i won around 3-4points for winning
when i got to final i won 1st frame and then lost the other 3 following frames
for loosing the following frames it took 9points then 8points then 8points again
this meant that i was left with less rank than when i started the tourney
surely this cant be a decent way of awarding and deducting rank in orig?
its like the game punished me for getting to the final and loosing?
surely you should end up with more than when you started even if you loose in final?

Simple: Win the final.

This was one of the great attractions of ranked tournaments to me when they were being discussed over the years, that being that they help level out rank as you can't control who you play, so you could even win a tournament but have a lower rank than when you started.
