We'd like more time, as me and solenoid were in a game of topsy turvy, and the first to 2 games, quarters... played first game, (solenoid won) then the second game, i could have easily taken at the end... however, with 3 min left, whats the point!!!!!!!!


Ended the game rather bitterly, and as a fair and respectful player, i left... losing rank on the second game (which i could have taken) and a chance for a tournament.

I personally think its farcical, but i had the title stuck in my head, like a news headline so, i thought i'd rant about it here.

My suggestion would be to let it start two hours earlier and indeed expand the time limit a bit.

In the tournament details, they describe how much time there is for each round.
It's 360 secs multiplied by max number of games (3 in this case). That is 1080 seconds. Add to that the 210 seconds you get for the invite period.
That's 21 minutes and 30 secs. They round that up to 22 minutes.

That's (proportionally) the standard amount of time you get for any round in any tournament. If that is increased even more, the tournament will take forever!

My suggestion would be less tapping, more potting?

When we next review the tournament schedule (hopefully by the Spring of next year), we will look at taking these thoughts into account.

For now though, it stays where it is (with reasonably good participation most evenings, it has to be said).

I thought the problem he was talking about had to do with the amount of time provided for each round.

Indeed, the original suggestion was for longer times per match, followed also by a call for it to be earlier in the evening.

In reply to both, we will give it our consideration when the schedules are next reviewed.

Not at all.
The most recent changes were made to the schedule only a month or so ago. We won't be changing everything before next year now.

surely you can change this your self? hardly any admins are on these days.

Of course I can... but as I said, we only recently changed the tournament structure.
There is no need to amend it again so soon after the last change.

but there is though surely if people are not happy with a particular tourney.

I would seem that most people are happy with the new format, as this is the first complaint.
