I do not know what people think, but do you not find it annoying when a player breaks off pots all the balls or a big enough break to win and then says

gg...........

I can clear from the snooker and have, usually I just wait for the other player to say. wp, then ill give a thank you.

sometimes, sportsmanship can border over into bad sportsmanship in my opinion. insulting behaviour.

Some would argue the opposite, in that if they say nothing, they'd be rude and non-sporting. I always offer a gl and gg regardless, even if what you describes happens. It's not meant to be taken in a bad way, it can sometimes be an automatic gesture, but certainly better than nothing in my opinion

I agree. Better than nothing. I said gg to someone i beat earlir who didnt play well. Not a hammering but fairly comprehensive. I said gg (not ul or wp) as he wasnt and hadnt tbf. He replied "really?" . I replied would you have prefered " you played crap, but thanks for the game" . You cant win sometimes. Im not good or big headed enough to mean it any differently im afraid.

I usually say nothing, or I say. sorry about that. which seems a nice solution.

Hi, tbh if i say gg, and they say thanks, i dont like it and have said so before. Especially when ive won and they say thanks lol.

Tbh if I don't know you it's gona depend on my mood if I'm going to even talk or not aha...

From what I've seen and experienced on here someone (usually the loser of course) will find something negative about the oppositions sportsmanship whether they say nothing at all, gg, ul, or even if they made a full statement apologising for winning I usually stick to saying gl then either gg wp or gg ul, regardless of how many times I did or didn't touch my virtual cue, or whether they spoke at all or not.

same, just like ul and sorry etc. if they don't speak i give them silent treatment

I know it's good etiquette and all that but I rarely say sorry for flukes or whatever because seriously, it happens, for us and to us, it's a part of the game, it wasn't intentional so sorry is unnecessary.
Obviously with this mindset you will get the odd one or two who say 'np' out of sarcasm or 'thanks for the sorry', to which I usually reply 'I wouldn't expect one from you if the tables were turned, it happens' .. Maybe I'm just rude

haha yeah, i'm probably one of few who hate flukes (when i get them) as i like to win by skill and flukes aren't skill and takes prestige of frame away at times

I think it is polite to say something like gg at the end of a frame.

Too many people on the site like to be rude and I do not want to be like them.

I much prefer to type it in full rather than in text speak, however I might also type about how bad my day has been and that I want a beer or what I'm going to have for my tea!!! If you don't like people typing in a game then don't look at the comments or place them on ignore.. I have played people before when Ive said good game or good shot they think it's a put off. Don't take a win or lose to serious and trying to have some mutual respect games are far much fun.... If you think these little comments are making you lose practice more 100% agree that typing and saying gig, gl etc I much prefer but each player is different.
