i just wondered how long this sites been going for?

Longer than pool i think.

I know this sounds silly, but i'd like to know how this site developed, what gave Nick the idea of making it etc.

if u look at the bottom of the page, it tells you, 2001-2006

i believe that funkypool was the first of the two sites, this site was made about 2-3 years ago i think if not then less than that! but, it wasn't the first of the two i no that much

If you look in game announcements you will see a 'welcome to funkysnooker' thread dated 14/9/05 stating that the game is a prototype etc.
I assume it started then.

Yep, funkysnooker has been running for about a year and 3 months now.

Funkypool has been running since 2003 i think (over 3 years)

Before that was poolsharks.co.uk which was created roughly 5 years ago.
